LYC London is one of the world’s largest gay
sports and social clubs, since 1983, offering a
safe space for guys and girls from the East &
West to meet and make lasting friendships. We
host Karaoke every Sunday night, in the basement
bar of Village, 81 Wardour - open from 7:00 till
11.30pm (sometimes 1am). Annual membership is
£8 then entrance to the club is free (except for
special events), members can bring in one guest
for £2 each week and non-members are £5 each.
There is no longer a Mr & Miss LYC competition,
this has been replaced by the all new, all
singing, all dancing LYC Factor contest, with
stunning prizes and a chance to sing at a major
London venue for the finalists, in front of a
huge crowd and a celebrity judging panel. In
addition, there are the LYC Tennis, LYC
Badminton and LYC Bowling sub-groups. We will
also be walking in the fantastic London Gay
Pride march again this 2008 which will hit
Oxford St and Regent St - giving our members the
chance to really show themselves off! There are
loads of other stuff planned too. You may also
notice that we say 'guys and girls' in our strap
lines now, this is due to our having a small but
growing lesbian community, as well as a strong
transgender following.
