San Francisco-based Pacific Friends, founded in 1984, is one of the oldest and most established gay Asian/non-Asian groups in the world. It has over 150 club sponsored and member-sponsored activities every year. Annual social events and theme activities feature: summer pool parties and beach parties, year- round potlucks and picnics formal dinners and cocktail receptions, local day outings & weekend camping trips, tennis and volleyball matches and local theater and arts entertainment. It also has a monthly newsletter. On January 11th, 2005, Pacific Friends officially joined hands with Long Yang Club to become known as Long Yang Club-Pacific Friends (LYC-PF).

Long Yang Club (LYC) Shanghai started in 2008. It is a social group for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Asians, their partners, and friends to meet and socialize in a friendly and supportive environment. The group is planning future events such as dinners, BBQs, picnics, movie nights, sporting events, and get-togethers at members' homes, Dim Sum meals ,and other events. It is not a dating club but an East-West social club whose members enjoy meeting and making new friends with persons who value quality friendship and enjoy non-scene social activities. It is not just a male group; it has sub-groups that are for Gay Guys, Lesbians, and Transgender people. Monthly joint functions of all the sub-groups' meeting together are planned.

LYC Sydney was established in 1999. It hosts potluck parties and poolside barbecues, monthly Yum-Chas (Dim Sum) in Chinatown, regular 3rd Friday of The Month club Night at ACON rooms at 7.00pm, and special large theme parties.

The Thailand chapter, founded in January 1996, has a growing membership of Thais, other Asians, and Westerners from broad backgrounds. In addition to members residing in Thailand, the Club also has a number of overseas members who visit Thailand regularly and like to keep up-to-date with news and views. The chapter has Club Nights the second Friday of each month in Bangkok at @Richard's Pub and Restaurant (formerly The Mix), Silom Road on Soi 2/1, a few steps from the BTS Skytrain Saladaeng station. Also there is a monthly "Dinner with Friends" at a different Bangkok restaurant each month. Other activities include beach trips, movie nights, karaoke contests, parties, and dinner river cruises.

Toronto is believed to have one of the largest Asian communities (200,000) in North America.  LYC Toronto is incorporated and managed by a committee. Events include regular socials (e.g. games night, coffee night) at the Party Room located at 177 Mutual Street. They also have potluck parties (one of the best in Toronto!) and special theme parties e.g. Vietnamese New Year, Chinese New Year, etc.  LYC Toronto publishes a regular newsletter.
