Dear
Members and Friends of Long Yang Club Sydney
Thank you to all who represented our Club in attending
the combined function with the MAG (Mature Age Gays) group on Saturday
24th April, the evening with the Hon Justice Michael Kirby. I'm sure you
will agree with me that Justice Kirby's speech was a fascinating and uplifting
account of his personal life's journey, and a most learned distillation
of gay legal milestones throughout history.
This month, again replacing our 3rd Friday Club Night, we will get together
on Saturday night to take a table at the Pollys Dance at the Marrickville
Town Hall. That's this Saturday night, the 22nd May. Details below.
Yum Cha in Chinatown as usual on the first Sunday in June (the 6th of
June).
The Annual General Meeting of the Long Yang Club, originally planned for
June, has now been postponed until August, in order for us to fulfil statutory
requirements leading up to Incorporation of our Club. We will be preparing
proposals to bring our Constitution into line with what is required for
the Incorporation process, and we will be circulating information and
appropriate notices for you to be able to consider and vote on this issue
at the AGM.
I again remind you of the four-and-a-half-day International Conference
(iCON) of Long Yang Club International in Bangkok, Thailand, 17th to 21st
November 2004, co-ordinating with Bangkok Gay Pride. Monthly updates are
posted on www.longyangclub.org/icon2004
