Newsletter of Long Yang Club Canberra, Australia
NOVEMBER 2003 |
It seems that our attempts to hold the annual car rally and treasure hunt for 2003 are doomed. Our attempts earlier in the year were washed out and the same happened for our plans for last month. Last minute phone calls managed to cancel the car treasure hunt and transfer our monthly activity to an indoor venue - many thanks to Mark and Miguel for stepping in at the last moment. Many of our members still spent a very pleasant afternoon with good company.
The November function sees the Annual Canberra Bush Dance at the Yarralumla Woolshed on
Saturday 29 November at 8.00 PM. Stephen and Daniel have volunteered to host an early BBQ
dinner for members from 4.00 PM and we then move on to the Bush Dance for an evening of fun.
LYCC will provide salads and breads for the BBQ Dinner - Members are asked to bring their
own meat and drinks.
For further details and directions, please phone Stephen and Daniel on 62480643
The December function is planned as a picnic lunch in Kambah Pool (clothing optional) followed by an afternoon tea at Terry and Cesar's place at Kambah. More details in the next newsletter - but keep the weekend in mid December free.
LYCC has been invited to sponsor Sunday afternoon tennis as a regular club activity. For those members who are interested in a fun social afternoon of light exercise and social company - either as players or just to join our regular social get together, please give Keith a call on 0402 475 879 for further details. No previous tennis experience is necessary as members are always happy to assist and coach new players. There is a small charge to off set the hire of the tennis courts.
